What if trauma isn’t what happened—
but what your nervous system is still trying to do?
For decades, we have been asking the wrong question.
This book asks a different one.
What is this nervous system organised around?
When our well-being is threatened, the nervous system organises around that threat. If a protective response cannot be completed, it continues organising as though the threat still exists.
Anxiety. Hypervigilance. Fear. Shutdown. Avoidance. Chronic tension. Persistent pain. Limiting beliefs. Feeling stuck.
These are not separate problems requiring separate explanations.
They are organised adaptations to an unfinished biological response.
Trauma is not something we heal from. We resolve it.
Surviving is not the same as resolving.
Somewhere along the way, we lowered the bar. We stopped asking whether trauma could be resolved and settled for relief.
This book offers a different map—one grounded not in pathology or psychology, but in biology.
It reveals why understanding alone rarely resolves trauma, why relief is not the same as resolution, and what becomes possible when the nervous system finally completes what it was organised to do.
Relief is not the end of the story.
Resolution is.
